Music For Life is een crossmediale strijd van Studio Brussel en het Rode Kruis tegen landmijnen. Peter Van de Veire, Christophe Lambrecht en Tomas De Soete maken 19 tot 24 december non-stop radio vanuit het Glazen Huis op het Martelarenplein in Leuven. Zonder eten (maar met voedzame sapjes) en met jouw favoriete platen en giften voor het landmijnenprogramma van het Rode Kruis.

De actie werd twee jaar geleden bedacht door 3FM, de Nederlandse openbare radio. Onder de noemer Serious Request sluiten ze daar ook drie dj’s op in een Glazen Huis in Utrecht om geld in te zamelen voor het landmijnenprogramma van het Rode Kruis. 3FM heeft Studio Brussel gevraagd om dit jaar de actie uit te breiden naar België.

De landmijnenproblematiek is een stille ramp. Je hoort er weinig over in het nieuws, maar elk jaar verwoesten landmijnen wereldwijd het leven van 15.000 tot 20.000 mensen.

De volledige opbrengst van Music For Life gaat naar het landmijnenprogramma van het Rode Kruis. Ze nemen het op voor de slachtoffers in officiële fora (pleitbezorging), waarschuwen mensen voor de gevaren van landmijnen (preventie) , en brengen slachtoffers letterlijk terug op de been (revalidatie).

In de eerste plaats door een verzoekplaat aan te vragen in ruil voor een gift. Dat kan online of via het callcenter op 070 344 044 (vanaf dinsdag 19 december om 6 uur). Daarnaast worden nog tal van acties op touw gezet: Party For Life, Otto Jan wandelt van Utrecht naar Leuven, Elke en Sofie zijn te huur voor klusjes,… Je kan ook zelf je eigen actie uitbouwen. Daarvoor moet je wel een officieel actienummer aanvragen via het callcenter.
